Britain's Prince Charles and his wife Camilla have arrived in Croatia at the start of their tour of the Balkan region that was engulfed in ethnic war in the 1990s and recently has been at the center of the European migrant crisis.
The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall landed today in the capital, Zagreb, for a two-day stay in Croatia before proceeding to Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo.
The British royals are expected to promote peace and reconciliation in the region where some 100,000 people died during the war and over a million were displaced.
The Balkans remains volatile though relations have improved as countries seek to join the European Union.
There have been fears Balkan tensions could be fueled by the ongoing migrant crisis.
