Brown sugar worth Rs 2.5 crore seized, three peddlers held

Three drug-peddlers were today arrested while 500 gms of brown sugar was recovered from them here, police said.
The contraband is valued at Rs 2.5 crore in the international market, a crime branch official said.
Imran, Salman and Amjad were arrested and the drug was seized from them in Sanyogitaganj area here, Additional SP-Crime Manoj Rai told reporters.
One of the peddler had come from Nagada in Madhya Pradesh to deliver the drug to two others when the crime branch sleuths intercepted them, Rai said.
This is the second seizure of brown sugar from the city in a fortnight, he added.
