The makeshift verification office at the camp was closed after no one came forward today to be identified as bona fide resident of Mizoram to be repatriated from Tripura, Mizoram Additional secretary for home Lalbiakzama said.
Only six people belonging to two families came forward at the Hamsapara camp to be identified on the first day.
But, five members of the family who were identified as Mizoram residents later informed the officials of Mizoram-Tripura border Mamit district that, on second thought, they decided not to return to Mizoram.
In such a situation, repatriation process at Hamsapara camp, scheduled to commence from Monday is not likely to be undertaken.
Lalbiakzama, however, said the repatriation process would continue and identification work would be conducted at the next relief camp.
Not much success was achieved in various phases of Bru repatriation process that began in 2010.
