BSES bags two major awards

Power distribution company BSES Yamuna Power Limited has bagged two awards for improvement in operational efficiency and innovative training programmes for its personnel.
The company was given ISTD Special Commendation award for innovative training practices at the 42nd IFTDO World Conference and Exhibition held here last week.
Among the contenders for the award were ONGC, PGCIL, Bharat Aluminium, Reliance Communications, Reliance Industries Limited, Gujarat Cement Works, Jindal Steel & Power, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, SAIL Durgapur and Tata Power Co Ltd, a BYPL official said.
IFTDO was founded in Geneva in 1972 in order to develop and maintain a worldwide network committed to the identification, development and transfer of knowledge, skills and technology.
BYPL has also won the Greentech Gold award for efficiency in operation which was conferred on it at the Third Greentech HR and Corporate Governance Conference 2013 held in Goa on April 19.
The awards have been instituted by the Greentech Foundation in association with the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs.
"We take great pride in being recognised as a learning organisation and will continue to build capacities and find platforms to share our best practices with other professionals from the power sector," BYPL CEO Ramesh Narayanan said.
