BSES Rajdhani ties up with EESL to develop energy efficient technologies

Power distribution company BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) has tied up with EESL for developing rooftop solar plant, smart metres, electric vehicles charging stations, solar irrigation pumps and engery storage solution, said a BRPL spokesperson.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed by Amal Sinha, the CEO of BRPL, and Saurabh Kumar, the managing director of Energy Efficiency Services Limited, a joint venture of public sector undertakings under the Ministry of Power, the spokesperson said.

The initial duration of the MoU is for three years.

Under the MoU, BRPL and EESL will collaborate to explore the deployment of these emerging technologies to bring in energy efficiency, promote renewables and reduce the peak power demand in South and West Delhi supplied by the discom," the spokesperson said.

"This association brings together two leaders in their respective domains and the resulting synergies are expected to benefit consumers in a more meaningful way, as also provide us insights to deal with emerging challenges and capitalise on opportunities, Sinha said.

The BRPL distributes power to an area spread over 750 sq km with a customer density of 3,100 per sq km. It's over 2.4 million customers are spread in 19 districts across South and West areas of Delhi, according to its website.

The areas include Alaknanda, Dwarka, Hauz Khas, Jaffarpur, Janak Puri, Khanpur, Mundka, Najafgarh, Nangloi, Nehru Place, Nizamuddin, Palam, Punjabi Bagh, R K Puram, Saket, Sarita Vihar, Tagore Garden, Vasant Kunj, Vikas Puri.
