BSF DG visits forward border outposts in Jammu
Press Trust of India Jammu BSF Director General Subash Joshi today visited forward areas along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir and reviewed the security situation there in the wake of increasing cases of ceasefire violations by Pakistan troops.
The DG, who arrived at around 10 A.M. From New Delhi on a special plane, left for his tour of the forward areas in Jammu, a BSF officer said. He was accompanied by Special DG BSF (West), Rajdeep Singh.
During his visit to the Border Outposts, Joshi took stock of the situation along with IG BSF, SS Tomar.
Joshi held a discussion on the current scenario along the IB in Jammu and discussed operational issues with his field commanders. Their focus was on the increasing instances of ceasefire violations and sniper strikes by Pakistan forces.
While BSF Head Constable Ram Niwas Meena yesterday succumbed to bullet injuries sustained in a sniper attack in Samba district on August 5, another BSF jawan, Pawan Kumar, was wounded in a similar strike in Jammu district yesterday.
