Constable, R K Mohanty (36) allegedly tried to kill himself, but the bullet missed him and went passed his throat and injured him severely at Nakamamudi BSF camp under Orkel police limits of Maoists-infested Malkangiri district, they said.
Mohanty fired his gun aiming his throat, but the bullet somehow missed the target and went pass injuring him badly, they said.
He was immediately rushed to the nearby Balimela hospital and later moved to the district headquarters hospital at Malkangiri in serious condition.
