BSF on alert after terror incident, steps up vigil

The BSF has sounded an alert and stepped up the vigil along International Border in the wake of the terror attack in Gurdaspur district in Punjab today.
"We are on alert. We have enhanced vigil along the entire International Border with Pakistan. Our senior officers are currently in the Gurdaspur Sector," BSF IG, Punjab Frontier, Anil Paliwal told PTI over phone.
He further said Dina Nagar town falls in Gurdaspur Sector, which is a junction point between Jammu and Punjab.
"DIG, Commandants and other officials of the BSF are in Gurdaspur. We are monitoring the situation," Paliwal said.
Dina Nagar town that lies close to Pakistan, falls in between Gurdaspur town on one side and Pathankot on the other, is about 260 km from Chandigarh.
