The half-marathon was held as a part of the BSF's countrywide drive to remember martyrs and create a sense of gratitude among people for the brave souls.
Pradhan said it is a novel way of paying tribute to those who laid down their lives for the country.
The marathon shows the spirit of the people and the respect they have towards the martyrs, Pradhan said.
Every citizen of the country owes his freedom to the bravery and sacrifices of these jawans and is duty bound to respect their families, the minister said.
