BSF, Pak Rangers hold meeting to ensure peace border
Press Trust of India Jammu A Commandant-Commander-level meeting the Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers was held in Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir to reiterate commitment to peace along the Indo-Pak border during cultivation by farmers on both sides.
A casual Wing Commander-Commandant level meeting was held between Pak Rangers and BSF at Mangu Chak Border Out Post (BOP) along International Border (IB) in Samba sector of J&K yesterday, a BSF officer said here today.
The Pakistan side was led by Wing Commander Aseem Bhatti and while Officiating Commandant Y B Yadav represented the BSF at the meeting, which was held in cordial manner.
They discussed issues of maintenance of peace along borderline during the cultivation by border farmers, cleaning thick growth of grass (Sarkanda) along zero-line and other issues, the officer said.
The two sides committed to maintenance of peace along the borderline, he added.
