BSF seizes 45 gold biscuits in North 24 Parganas

The BSF today arrested a person from Indo-Bangla border in North 24 Parganas district and recovered 45 gold biscuits worth Rs 1.49 crore from his possession, BSF officials said.
The BSF had planned a special patrol at the Indo-Bangla border area near Swarupnagar on the basis of an information.
The patrolling party apprehended a 60-year-old man and recovered the gold biscuits from him. The BSF arrested him for his alleged involvement in smuggling gold, BSF officials said.
The BSF later handed over the man and the seized gold biscuits to the customs department.
