Mobile services of state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in Jammu region was today affected for around 9 hours due to a technical problem.
"There was a technical snag which grounded the switch board unit of BSNL at around 1130 hours today badly affecting the service," a senior BSNL officer said.
"It had totally collapsed. We had to reload the software and operating system and it took some hours," he said adding that the service was made operational by 2030 hours.
In Srinagar, BSNL has a challenging task of diverting the load as two main switch boards were still under flood water, he said.
"In Jammu, there are two switch boards, and for some time we have to put the load of Srinagar on these, leading to certain problems at times," he added.
