BSNL Sub-Divisional Engineer shot dead in Nagaland

A BSNL official was shot dead and his niece sustained bullet injury as unidentified gunmen fired at them in Dimapur district of Nagaland, police said today.
A masked man called BSNL Sub-Divisional Engineer Gaithuikungpu Mukta Rongmei from his home at Naga Gaon in Dimapur last night.
When Rongmei was at the door, the man shot in his face from point blank twice and fled, the police said.
Rongmei's niece Rajni, who had accompanied him to the door, was shot on the leg.
When the two were taken to hospital, Rongmei was declared dead on arrival while Rajni was admitted there.
A case has been registered in connection with the incident.
