"We approached AAI Chairman three months back for providing wi-fi services. He actively responded to it. AAI has agreed to allow BSNL services and circulated information to all airports managed by them for allowing BSNL services," BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Anupam Shrivastava told PTI.
AAI manages 121 airports in the country including 11 international airports.
"We have started offering wi-fi services at 4-5 airports including Bhopal, Coimbatore. Depending on commercial feasibility we will expand services at airports," Shrivastava said.
The AAI also has partnership with Tata Teleservices for wi-fi services at some airports.

Also pointing out that BSNL's 'MNP' ratio has become positive, he said ".... Each month almost like 1.5 to two millioncustomers are adding to our network which used to be less than1 million.... So that's how our customer baseis also rising."
Noting that BSNL has now put its act together, he said "We missed the voice bus, we do not want to miss the data bus.
He said, "data is the future of our organisation and we don't want to lose that."
All mobile customers in a BSNL-QuadGen WiFi Hotspot can enjoy BSNL MDO Service which offers three times faster speed than 3G, BSNL officials said.
They said QuadGen partnered with BSNL have already launched wifi service in 10 states in India.
Stating that MDO is actually working as a 4G Hotspot, Shrivastava said, "we have already installed 700 wifi hotspot countrywide, before March 31 we have a target to do 2500,and in next two to three years we will bring that figure to 40,000...."
