BSP leader, father shot dead in UP

A local BSP leader and his father were shot dead today allegedly by some unidentified men in Ubhaon area here, a senior police officer said.
Parashuram Tiwari (35) and his father Vindeshwari Tiwari (70), a retired teacher, were shot at when they were returning from neighbouring Mau district this evening, Assistant Superintendent of Police K C Goswami said.
They were rushed to the district hospital but doctors declared them brought dead.
Prima facie old rivalry is the reason behind the murders.
BSP MLA Umesh Chandra Pandey said that Parashuram was former vice president of Mau district unit.
