BSP member Danish Ali Thursday demanded in the Lok Sabha strengthening of anti-defection law amidst the recent developments in states like Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Ali said that if a legislature changes his/her party, he/she should be disqualified as they are misusing the law.
He demanded introduction of a bill to amend the anti- defection law.
V. K. Sreekandan (INC) raised the issue of increasing drug abuse in the country and sought controlling the menace through strong laws.
Sunita Duggal (BJP) also raised the issue of increasing drug addiction.
Rama Devi (BJP) raised the issue of floods in Bihar and sought setting up of a body to deal with the problem as several people get affected due to this natural calamity.
M Tagore (INC) urged intervention of the centre to deal with the problem of south Indian students in Delhi University who are complaining that the said authorities are seeking certificates due to their name pattern.
The authorities are saying that while in some, the name of the father/guardian is reflected through initials, in some it is the full name.
