BSP MLA B L Kushwaha, arrested by the state CID-Crime Branch in connection with a murder case, was today sent to police remand for four days till October 18.
Dholpur Sadar Court Justice Rajesh Sharma granted four days of police custody to Kushwaha till October 18 when he was produced in the court by the CID-CB, Investigating Officer and Additional SP Sarita Singh said.
Khushwaha was arrested yesterday after he surrendered before the IO at the police headquarters under sections 302 and 120B of IPC for alleged murder and criminal conspiracy in the murder of a person, Naresh, Singh said.
Naresh was allegedly shot dead in Jheel-Ka-Pura area near Dholpur by two assailants on December 27, 2012.
The MLA's name figured in the investigations for his alleged involvement in hiring shooters as the victim was in love with his (MLA) sister.
On July 5, the Rajasthan High Court had dismissed the anticipatory bail application of the Dholpur MLA. A single bench of Justice K S Aluwali had rejected his bail plea on the ground that he was "charged with a heinous crime" following which he could not be granted anticipatory bail.
The Dholpur MLA, however has alleged that his implication in the case, is conspiracy of the BJP, but the rival party has rejected the charge. However, state BJP President Ashok Parnami has rejected the allegations saying it was Kushwaha's personal matter and the government did not interfere in it.
