"The announcements of offering tax benefits for power generation projects is a welcome move with intent to bridge the demand-supply deficit of electricity generation in the country.
"The Rs 1,000 crore aid and five per cent concessional duty showcased the increased focus on developing solar power projects...," ACME Group Chairman and Managing Director Manoj Kumar Upadhyay said in a statement.
This would help in achieving the aim of increasing solar power generation share in the overall electricity generation from existing 1 to 3 per cent, he added.
