Burglary at French photographer's room in south Delhi

Cameras, laptops and other items worth Rs 15 lakh was looted from the rented accommodation of a French woman in south Delhi's Vasant Vihar, with the burglars also allegedly damaging her photography studio, police said today.
Yesterday at 10.30 PM, Christelle Weinsberg, a photographer, received a call from her landlord informing her that smoke was emanating from her room on the second floor of the house, a police officer said.
She rushed back to her room to find the door broken, valuables missing and her studio damaged. The burglars had allegedly set her bed ablaze that set off the fire alarm which alerted her landlord, the officer said.
Christelle said that she never hired any help. The premises doesn't have any CCTV cameras, police said, adding investigation is underway.
