Sanjay, who used to escape from juvenile homes earlier after being caught in burglary cases, and his two associates Suraj (22) and Nazim (20) were apprehended from GB Road on Sunday, Ashok Chand, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), said.
"We had a tip off. With the arrests, we have solved five cases," he said.
Sanjay was allegedly involved in 25 cases of burglary in government flats located around Sarojini Nagar.
"The gang used to scale walls to reach targeted houses. Then they would broke open the door locks and decamp with cash, jewellery and electronic items. After committing burglary, the gang would set the house on fire, just for fun," Chand said.
Sanjay allegedly blew up the money on liquor and visiting brothels. After his release from jail in March this year, he alongwith Suraj and Nazim allegedly committed five burglaries in Sarojini Nagar.
"Sanjay has tattoos all over his body. Some of the tattoos that he has on his left arm read 'Danger', 'Darinda' and 'Mahakaal'," Chand said. PTI SJY
