The medical board comprising four doctors of the Government Rajindra Hospital here, headed by Patiala Civil Surgeon, examined 23-year-old injured Yannick this afternoon and recommended his shifting to a tertiary-care hospital like the PGI for better medical care.

"The board is of the opinion that since the patient is haemodynamically stable, so he can be shifted to a tertiary care institute like PGI, Chandigarh, for better medical care and in the larger interest of the patient," the medical board's report said.

After examining the patient today, the medical board said, "Presently the patient is haemodynamically stable, tracheostomised and maintaining saturation in room air. His GCG (Glasgow coma scale is 6/15). The patient is not able to make any purposeful movement of upper and lower limbs. He is being fed by Ryles tube."

The patient's chest was clear and his blood pressure was 110/70, while his pulse was 90 per minute, the doctors said.

The Burundi student of a private university was going to a party in Jalandhar when he was attacked by some persons on April 22 last. He was stoned and severely thrashed and left on the roadside. (more)
