They set ablaze the bus involved in the accident and damaged a number of vehicles, forcing the police to lob tear gas shells and lathicharge the protesters.
23-year-old Sanjay was on his way to Delhi on his bike when the bus ran over him this morning, SSP Nitin Tiwari said.
He died on the spot.
Anger erupted after the police allegedly tried to shift the matter to Delhi police, saying the spot of mishap was not under their jurisdiction.
