Bus rams into sign board, eight sustains injury

A Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus today rammed into a road sign board on the arterial Anna Salai here, injuring eight persons.
In the impact, the signage fell on the front portion of the bus, shattering its windscreen and damaging the vehicle, police said.
The Broadway-bound bus met with the accident near the Spencer Plaza here.
The injured, including women, were treated at a nearby government hospital.
The mishap resulted in a traffic pile-up on the key road for about half an hour before the damaged signage and the vehicle were removed.
