'Buses being diverted to ferry people to AIADMK poll venues'

: CPI(M) today accused transport department officials of diverting nearly 200 buses, including State-owned ones,to facilitate people being taken to venues in Pollachi and the city, where AIADMK supremo and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa is scheduled to address election rallies.
In a complaint to the election officer and District Collector Archana Patnaik, the party alleged that the diversion of buses was in total violation of model code.
Seeking suitable action against officials involved, the party said hundreds of students appearing for the 10th exams were severely affected by the act.
The election officer assured that action would be taken and said authorities concrened had already been asked to enquire on the reported diversion to other routes, party sources said.
