Sumit Arora was apprehended following a raid in his shop in a market in central Delhi's Hauz Qazi yesterday, said Devesh Srivastava, Additional Commissioner of Police (Central).

Police recovered duplicate 459 nozzles, 490 elements, 856 delivery valves, 2074 packing materials, 69,357 duplicate stickers and some raw materials worth lakhs of Rupees, he said.

During interrogation, he claimed, Arora told police that he used to procure these duplicate goods from one Shazad, who used to come from Khatoli in UP.

"He used to sell genuine spare parts in Hauz Qazi area but the earnings were very meagre and not sufficient to meet his day-to-day expenses. Four years back, a casual visitor told him about the huge margins in selling the duplicate spare parts.

"Since the said company manufacturers superior quality of spare parts, he used to get good margin out of it. Further investigations are on and efforts are being made to apprehend Shazad", Srivastava said.
