The incident occurred last night when Chandraprakash Vijayvergiya was returning home from his tobacco shop. He was intercepted by two miscreants at gun point with an intention to loot his bag containing money worth Rs 2.5 lakh, they said.
When Vijayvergiya shouted for help, the culprits shot at him and fled the spot, police said, adding that the victim received bullet injuries on his shoulder.
He was rushed to a local hospital where his condition is stated to be stable, they said.
