Businessman shot at in Tilak Nagar

A businessman was shot at by unidentified assailants at Tilak Nagar area of West Delhi this morning, leaving him critically injured, police said.
According to the police, Jitender Lamba (39), a resident of Rajauri Garden area, was attacked at around 9:30 near the canal area.
The victim, who runs a shop, reached the area in his car and after alighting from the vehicle headed towards his shop. when two assailants on a motorcycle drew up and opened fired six rounds at him.
Jitender sustained four gun wounds and collapsed on the ground, said a police official.
The victim was taken to Deen Dayal Updhyay Hospital and he had to be referred to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital after his condition deteriorated.
"It seems to be a case of personal or business rivalry. We have recorded the statement of his family members and friends who have rejected any possibility of his personal rivalry with anyone", police said.
"We have formed several teams to investigate the incident. However, the assailants are yet to be identified," said a police official.
