The seat fell vacant last month after the untimely demise of sitting MLA from the constituency and cabinet minister Surendra Rakesh.
Rakesh had won the reserved (SC) seat on a BSP ticket.
Announcing the dates for the bypoll here today, Chief Election Officer Radha Raturi said notification for the bypoll will be issued on March 17.
March 24 will be the last date for filing of nominations, followed by scrutiny on March 25.
Withdrawal of nominations will take place on March 27 and polling will be held on April 11 from 8am to 5 pm, she said.
In keeping with the directives of the Election Commission of India the model code of conduct comes into force in the whole of Haridwar district with immediate effect.
