The meeting attended by the top commanders of the force, including IAF chief Arup Raha, is likely to discuss the crash of the C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft on last Friday in which five personnel including four officers were killed, IAF officials said.
In a major setback, the IAF lost one of its six C-130J Super Hercules aircraft in the mishap near Gwalior while it was performing a low level flying exercise.
The IAF has already located the black box of the crashed aircraft and sent it to the US for getting it decoded by the plane manufacturer Lockheed Martin to know the exact cause behind the crash.
The IAF is expecting the data to be made available to it by the end of this week.
Meanwhile, Royal Oman Air Force chief Air Vice Marshal Matar Ali Matar Ali-Abaidani today met his Indian counterpart Raha here to discuss ways of strengthening military ties.
Both IAF and the Oman Air Force operate the Jaguar combat aircraft and hold regular exercises involving the fleet of the Anglo-French deep penetration strike aircraft.
