C'garh girls outshine boys in class XII exam by CGBSE

Girls in Chhattisgarh once again outshone boys in class XII examination conducted by the State Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE), results for which were declared today.
While the percentage of girls who have passed the exam stood at 75.83 % that of boys at 71.19 %.
The results were announced by School Education Minister Kedar Kashyap in the presence of department's senior officials at a press conference here.
Out of 2,80,329 students who had registered themselves for CGBSE Higher Secondary School Certificate Examinationthis year, 2,77,114 students, including 1,43,561 boys and 1,33,553 girls, appeared in the examination of which 2,02,646 (73.43%) passed, Kashyap said.
The results show that the girls have edged boys out by a low margin.
"While 75.83 per cent girls have passed the class XII examination, the passing percentage for boys is 71.19 %," the minister said.

While the percentage of girls who cleared the exam had stood at 76.32 % that of boys at 70.72 %.
Congratulating the students, Kashyap said CGBSE, Raipur, is the first board to declare higher secondary examination in entire North India and Central India.
