State's Women and Child Development Minister Ramsheela Sahu took decision in this regard today while chairing a meeting ofthe governing body of 'Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh' (CMK) here at Mantralaya, a government official said.
To benefit more and more women and women's SHGs under Saksham Yojna, the rate of interest on loans given to them has been cut from 6.5 per cent to 5 per cent, he said.
The initiative will allow the women and SHGs to easily avail the loan facility for self-employment and thereby become self-dependent, he added.
An amount of Rs 1.04 crore loans had been disbursed to about 279 SHGs in the current fiscal 2017-2018 till September under various schemes of CMK, the official said.

Under Saksham Yojna of the Kosh,loan to the tune of Rs 72 lakh had been distributed to about 111 SHGs during the same period while in the previous fiscal, Rs 2.44 crore loan was sanctioned to 407 SHGs under this scheme, he added.
Several other decisions were also taken during the meeting to encourage hard-working SHGs while the minister also reviewed the progress under various related projects, he said.
