The last monsoon session of the Chhattisgarh Assembly beginning tomorrow before the state goes to polls is likely to be stormy, with the opposition Congress geared up to corner the BJP government on a number of issues.
The Congress has lined up issues like plight of farmers, corruption, "administrative failure", and recent agitation by the kin of police personnel for various demands to put the Raman Singh government on mat.
"In the last 15 years, the state government has failed on every front and people are facing problems. The government employees of various departments have been staging protest for their various legitimate demands. The government has been misusing administration to suppress the Opposition," alleged Leader of Opposition in the Assembly T S Singhdeo.
He told PTI that the Congress would seek answers from the government on issues like "corruption, irregularities in distribution of compensation against drought relief and claim settlement against Crop Insurance Scheme, deteriorating law and order situation in Bastar, and increasing crime against women".
When asked whether the Congress will bring a no-confidence motion against the government in the session, which is going to be the last one as the state is going to polls later this year, Singhdeo said the decision would be taken at the meeting of the Congress Legislative Party.
As per the schedule, the session will have a total of five sittings between July 2 and July 6.
A notification said the state government will table demand proposals for the first Supplementary Budget for the financial year 2018-19 during the session.
