C'garh to hold assembly session tomorrow to clear GST Bill

The Chhattisgarh government will hold a day-long assembly session tomorrow to ratify the Goods and Service Tax (GST) Bill.
"The Chhattisgarh Goods and Service Tax Bill, 2017 will be tabled in the assembly on Friday for discussion," Principal Secretary Chhattisgarh Assembly Devendra Verma told PTI.
"The budget session of the state assembly held in February-March this year had not been adjourned sine die on the last stipulated day. It was announced that the assembly will hold a day-long session for clearing the GST bill in April," he said.
Verma said that in the House, homage would be paid to the security personnel, who attained martyrdom in the April 24 Maoist ambush in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh.
Meanwhile, opposition Congress has demanded that the session be held for more days. "We have given an adjournment motion notice demanding discussion over Sukma attack in the House. We have also demanded to extend the sitting of the House," Leader of Opposition in the assembly T S Singhdeo said.
