C'garh to launch medical app to help people find hospitals

The Chhattisgarh's health department will soon launch a mobile app that will connect people with medical emergency to the nearest hospitals in a particular area.
"The app will be launched within 15-20 days. It will help people in locating closest government or private hospitals in case of emergencies," principal secretary, health and family welfare, Subrat Sahoo told reporters on sidelines of a workshop held here today.
The app will also contain feature showing hospitals treating different ailments like heart-stroke, and users can access location, route and contact details of the nearest hospital specialised to treat it, he said.
People can also seek help from that particular hospital through SMS or call facility.
Currently, the application is being tested and will be launched next month. It is a free app, Sahoo said.
Users would also be able to alert 108 - free ambulance facility services through this android based online app.
