C S Rajan appointed new Chief Secretary of Rajasthan

Rajasthan government today appointed Additional Chief Secretary (Infrastructure) C S Rajan as the new Chief Secretary of the state.
An order in this regard was issued by the Department of Personnel.
A 1978-batch IAS officer, Rajan (59) has been made the Chief Secretary after the earlier Chief Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi was appointed Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, in Delhi by the Narendra Modi government.
Rajan, who hails from Bangalore, has worked as ACS, Rural Development and Panchayti Raj; Principal Secretary, Industries, Public Works Department and Energy Department, Nagaur Collector, among other posts in the state government.
