According to the police, the accident took place at around 6:15 PM near Cotton Green in South Mumbai when the car suffered a tyre burst and overturned.
While the other occupants of the vehicle escaped unhurt, the driver, Rajesh Patel, suffered injuries, they said.
He was admitted to a nearby hospital, where his condition is stated to be stable, police added.
