"The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been apprised of the Memorandum of Understanding between India and Bangladesh on cyber security cooperation," an official statement said.
The agreement was signed on April 8 between Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) and Bangladesh Government Computer Incident Response Team (BGD e-Gov CIRT).
Both the agencies will promote exchange of information on cyber attacks and security incidents, technology cooperation, exchange security policies and best practices and human resource development.
CERT-In is a national nodal agency under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology with the objective of securing Indian cyber space.
The pact comes at a time when governments, businesses and consumers are increasingly facing a variety of cyber threats, the statement said.
