In its endeavour to boost tourism industry in the state, Jammu and Kashmir government is planning to start cable car service for the Shiv Khouri shrine in Reasi district.
"The government is mulling over to launch a prestigious cable car project for Shiv Khouri Shrine in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir," state Minister for Tourism Ghulam Ahmed Mir said today.
The Jammu and Kashmir State Cable Car Corporation (JKSCCC) has formulated a detailed project proposal in consultation with the Rail India Technical Economic Services (RITES), a consultant agency of the Union Railway Ministry.
The Managing Director of JKSCCC Tufail Mattoo informed the minister that the corporation has conducted a broad survey of the site and submitted the report to RITES, seeking guidance for the implementation of the project.
He said that the project is expected to start by the next year.
The minister assured that Kotla Village in Reasi district, blessed with abundant natural and scenic splendour and surrounded by beautiful mountains, would be brought into the tourism map.
"This will immensely help boost tourism, thus raise economy and employment in the area which has about 50 adjoining villages," he said.
