This fund raising initiative by the trust attracted sponsors and participants from all over India. This year's tournament attracted around 12 sponsors across sectors, including IndiGo, Genpact, HDFC Bank, ITC, Coca-Cola, and Nike among others. A total of 340 golfers participated in it.
Speaking about the tournament, Billy Bedi, Trustee, Caddies Welfare Trust said, "Golf is fast becoming one of the most popular sports globally and caddies are an integral part in any game of golf. CWT is committed to improve the lives of caddies and their families, focusing primarily on their health, skill development and economic sustenance."
Even the legendary Tiger Woods has held forth on the importance of caddies and has donates Rs 3 lakh to the Caddies Welfare Trust.
