Cairo metro briefly halted after bomb hoax

Metro services were today halted briefly in the Egyptian capital after miscreants placed two fake devices on the tracks of the subway.
The devices which looked like bombs contained no explosives and they were fake, an interior ministry official here said.
Cement bags with wires attached were placed on the tracks 100 meters from Helmayet al-Zeitoun underground metro station, the official said.
Bomb experts dispatched to the scene combed the tracks for more devices before the services resumed, local media reported.
