The meeting would comprise 25 race days and conclude on October 16, the Royal Calcutta Turf Club said here today.
Approximately 569 horses including 160 two-year-olds, 409 older horses and further 40 older horses are expected to arrive in station to compete during the season.
Altogether 19 'A' licenses and eight 'B' licenses were issued to trainers.
Besides, 33 'A' licensed jockeys, 11 'B' licensed ones and 9 apprentice jockeys would be seen in action.
The stake money for the season is Rs 6.65 crore, which is 14 per cent higher than the previous year's stake, said Robin Corner General Manager and Advisor of RCTC.
Trophies/Cusps are worth Rs 10 lakh this season.
