The seat will witness a triangular contest among Sukhjit Kaur (BJP-SAD), Arun Dogra (Cong) and Bhupinder Singh Ghuman (PPP).
Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, SAD President and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal along with state BJP leaders including MP Navjot Singh Sidhu were the star campaigners for Sukhjit Kaur, widow of Amarjit Singh Sahi, who represented the seat.
His demise earlier this month has necessitated the bye-election.
Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh, along with party MP Santosh Chaudhary, senior party leaders Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, MLAs Sangat Singh Gilzian, Kewal Dhillon, Rana Gurjit Singh and other local leaders campaigned for Dogra, son of former minister R C Dogra.
Former Finance Minister and PPP Chief Manpreet Badal also made a number of visits to woo voters in favour of party nominee Ghuman.
Polling will take place on July 11 and counting will be held on July 14.
