According to a press release, the SOS crowd funding campaign is the first-ever drive for species conservation in India, giving individuals a chance to support and directly fund conservation projects.
The campaign aims to raise at least Rs. 15,00,000 using the crowd-funding platform.
The funds raised, the release said, will be utilized to scale up WWF's snow leopard conservation projects such as setting up camera traps to study the exact status and distribution of snow leopards in range states and support the construction of predator-proof livestock pens for local communities in snow leopard habitats that will help in managing snow leopard-human conflict.
