Campbell's ex-assistant tells all on her star boss
Press Trust of India New York Supermodel Naomi Campbell's former assistant has given a sneak peek into her job, revealing how tough it is to be at the beck and call of a celebrity boss round the clock. Rebecca White, who worked for the famously difficult Campbell for almost five years, was required to follow a drill whenever she arrived at a hotel ahead of her VIP employer - call housekeeping to unpack, steam and press the clothes, take out the contents of the minibar and put 25 lily-scented candles around the suite in the specific spots, reported New York Post. "God forbid they weren't (the luxury brand) Diptyque. There always had to be five candles in the bathroom, 10 in the bedroom and 10 in the living room," said White. "There's no such thing as overtime or having your own life. You are married to these people. You are literally in a relationship with them," said the 39-year-old. Before Campbell, White was a personal assistant to Claire Danes, then just a teenager, after her breakthrough role in "William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet." "There are different levels of PAs there's the person back in the office who does the faxing and e-mailing but my job was to be their best friend. It's sad, but true. "On the outside, these celebrities seem to have everything you can imagine money, fame, friends but they don't," said White.
