It is aimed at proceeding with their plan to export processed tender arecanut fruit to the country for manufacture of mouth fresheners.
The team is headed by Konkodi Padmanabha, former president of the multi-state co-operative. A Chinese team had last month visited Campco and villages from where arecanut was being procured by the co-operative.
The China visit would provide a boost to the 'Make in India' concept mooted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a Campco release said here.
Being one of the major producers of arecanut in the world, India could meet the increasing demand for arecanut in the Chinese market, it said.
Campco should be able to procure adequate raw material for mouth freshener and utilise the opportunity to create an advantageous atmosphere for export of arecanut, Padmanabha said.
The visit would also be helpful as documents could be collected on the medicinal values of arecanut which had been recognised by China and countries like Indonesia and Malaysia, he said.
