Canadian biz delegation visiting India for more eco ties

A large business delegation from a Canadian province is visiting India to seek investments and enhance economic cooperation.
The mission led by Alison Redford, Premier of the Canadian province of Alberta, will be visiting Amritsar, Mumbai and Bengaluru, High Commission of Canada said in a statement.
During the week long visit (January 11-17), the delegation will "explore areas of deeper cooperation, notably in the energy and agriculture sectors; promote Alberta as an attractive investment destination," it said.
It said that more than 20 Alberta-based companies are participating in this mission.
"Our trade mission to India is an important opportunity to build on Alberta's strong relationship with one of the world's fastest-growing economies.
"This trade mission will allow us to open new doors for Alberta organisations and enable Indian businesses are able to identify new opportunities in Alberta," it said quoting Redford.
He would meet key Indian government and industry leaders here besides visiting the Wipro global headquarters campus in Bengaluru.
The bilateral trade between India and Canada stood at USD 4.83 billion in 2012-13 as against USD 4.97 billion in 2011-12.
