"The international community needs to play a role in the resumption of India-Pakistan talks and ensure that the Kashmiri leadership was on board for the resolution of Kashmir issue as per the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kashmir," Mirwaiz said during an interaction with a Canadian delegation at his residence here.
Canadian Deputy High Commissioner Jess Dutton and Councilor Gillian Frost called on Hurriyat chairman at his residence at Nigeen and held detailed deliberations with him, a spokesman of the separatist amalgam said.

"Until Kashmir issue is resolved, it is not possible to achieve development, peace, political stability and economic prosperity in the region," the Hurriyat chairman said.
