Canadian diplomat meets UP BJP prez, discusses LS poll success

Canadian High Commission's First Secretary, political and economic affairs, David Hamilton today met Uttar Pradesh BJP president Laxmikant Bajpai and discussed state's political scenario including party's success in the last Lok Sabha elections and the upcoming assembly polls.
Hamilton discussed upcoming Assembly polls in a meeting at the party headquarters here this afternoon, a party release said.
Bajpai presented the diplomat with a copy of Bhagwad Gita. The Canadian secretary also paid a visit to Ayodhya.
Hamilton said he was keen to meet state leaders after party's impressive show in the last Lok Sabha polls, the release said.
Discussions were held on political scenario in the state as well as likely issues during the next Assembly poll due in two years, the release said quoting Bajpai.
The BJP leader apprised Hamilton that his party will contest the upcoming pole on the issue of 'sushasan' (good governance), corruption, law and order, unemployment, and farmers' problems, the release said.
He also informed as to how the BJP-led Centre has worked for all sections of society in its first year, the release said.
Several other leaders of the party were also present at the meeting.
