Canadian start-ups are exploring opportunities in India to scale up their business globally, the High Commission of Canada said today.
Canada's Minister of International Trade Ed Fast today promoted Canadian government's programme, CTA@India, to collaborate with Indian entrepreneurs for development of technology and business.
CTA@India is a four-month virtual accelerator programme aimed at Canadian start-up technology companies which are interested in exploring opportunities in India to scale their businesses globally.
"CTA@India is helping Canadian start-ups gain traction in the Indian market, and supports the Indian innovation ecosystem by working with promising Indian start-ups and connecting them with Canadian mentoring, marketing and partnering opportunities that will enable them to grow their young businesses," the statement said.
In addition, through citizenship and immigration Canada's start-up visa programme, Canada is encouraging high-potential entrepreneurs backed by Indian investors to build innovative companies in Canada and expand market opportunities in both countries, it added.
India is a priority market under Canada's Global Markets Action. Priority sectors under GMAP in India include information and communications technology, life sciences and infrastructure, which all benefit from the support through the Canadian Technology Accelerator programme.
