A three-day capacity building workshop, organised by environmental organisation Aaranyak, concluded here today with the aim to further build the skills of grassroot level environmental workers in different aspects.
The various topics covered during the workshop include enhancing livelihood of targeted communities and how to conduct environmental education among stakeholders, Aaranyak Secretary General Bibhab Talukdar said.
Important information on legal issues related to NGO management and various wildlife, forests and environmental laws of India were also shared.
The workshop also included field activities and field photography training.
"This workshop has been held so that environmental NGOs can overcome their difficulties that they face on and off the field, and march forward in their exemplary work of conserving wild life and forests," Talukdar added.
The NGOs also got the opportunity to share presentations, photographs and documentaries, which the workers made on the field while conducting rescue operations and awareness campaigns in the remotest regions of Assam.
